Hydro Lodge

Hydro Lodge is a portable, modular indoor food-growing system designed to make fresh, local produce part of everyday life—especially for people living in small, shared, or temporary spaces. Developed in partnership with the University of Prince Edward Island Engineering Lab, Hydro Lodge is built for real living conditions: apartments, dorms, studios, co-living spaces, and environments where traditional growing isn’t practical. It’s designed to move with people, adapt to limited space, and support consistent access to fresh food, regardless of where or how someone lives.

Key Features:

  • Designed for homes, cafés, pubs, and small spaces
  • Food literacy, wellness, and community food access
  • Portable, modular system that travels easily
  • Year-round indoor growing capability
  • Beautiful, furniture-like appearance
  • Simple, accessible user experience
Why-Hydro-Lodge

Why Hydro Lodge

Hydro Lodge responds to the growing challenges of food insecurity, rising produce costs, and the scarcity of attractive, accessible indoor growing systems. Many Canadians live in spaces without access to gardens or long-term stability, and existing systems are too industrial, technical, or bulky for everyday environments.

Offering

Our pricing model is built around keeping Hydro Lodge financially accessible. The goal is for the total monthly cost to be equal to-or less than-what an average family or company already spends on produce, making the system a practical alternative rather than an added financial burden.

Cost Breakdown

  • Unit Price: Projected at $500–$700 per unit (Price solidified after prototype completion)
  • Membership: $50–$75 per month, including:
    • Meal planning and dietitian support
    • Community workshops
    • Plant Maintenance
